Fantasy Football Week 14

December 13th, 2009 · No Comments

Amazing how fast the regular season is flying by. Many fantasy leagues will be starting their playoffs this week. This is the last regular season week in my league and I have 1st place wrapped like a Christmas present. Beware of the bad weather, see Big Ben this past Thursday night. Reminds me of 2 years ago when I had Tom Brady. It was the 1st round of the playoffs in my league and the Patriots were at the Jets. Weather forecast was in the single digits and winds gusting up to 50-60 mph. End result Tom Brady 6 fantasy points and my season over. Final analysis is Tom Brady may be great, a sure-fire hall of famer, have a gorgeous wife but will never play on my team as long as he plays for a cold weather team.

Game Of The Week-Broncos at Colts. I don’t know if the Colts are bored because they don’t seem to have any giddy-up in them the last few weeks. Peyton Manning has cooled off from his almost near perfect start to the season but he finds a way to win and this week is no different. Colts 34 Broncos17.

Game For The Weak-Bills at Chiefs. Watching the Bills last Thursday night was more painful than having 1 of those talks with your significant other. Fellas you know those talks. They’re not Tiger level talks but nonetheless painful. The Bills stink so do the Chiefs although they have shown some life lately especially running the ball. Chiefs 27 Bills 16.

Upset Special-Last week I got a little carried away when I picked the Bears to upset the Vikings but I was feeling good with a 5-1 upset special record coming into last week. With that loss I am 5-2 and have been welcomed back to Earth. This week I am going with the Jaguars over the Dolphins. The Dolphins are the ones in outer space after beating the Patriots last week in stunning fashion. This week they come back to planet earth. Jaguars 24 Dolphins 17.

In The Huddle-Drew Brees at the dead where they stand Falcons. Brees 345 yards, 3 touchdowns. I am hoping Sean Peyton will keep the reins off the next few weeks. Matt Hasselbeck at the Texans should be good for 280 yards 1-2 TD’s. David Garrard will surprise today against the Dolphins. Garrard 313 yards 2 scores. Antonio Gates 8 receptions, 96 yards 1 score. C. Brown at Seattle and J. Charles home against the Bills could be very useful this week as fill-ins for regular starters. Brown 70-80 yards 1 score and Charles could have a big day to the tune of 120 yards 2 scores.

On The Pine-Cedric Benson will have a tough day at the Vikings who are coming off a beating at the hands of the Arizona Cardinals. Steven Jackson who has been the lone bright spot for the Rams this season is hurting and hasn’t practiced in 3 weeks. He is going up against a reinvigorated defense in the Titans.  Reggie Wayne has not had a 100 yard game in 4 weeks as he is getting extra attention plus he will be shadowed by Champ Bailey.

Now Or Never-It’s week 14 and I don’t have anyone particular in mind for NON because if you haven’t done anything up to this point in the season odds are you’re not going to.
