Say What? 5

October 12th, 2009 · 1 Comment

President Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize last week which was a shock to say the least. Even the President himself was in disbelief. He said this:

To be honest, I do not feel that I deserve to be in the company of so many of the transformative figures who’ve been honored by this prize

I finally can agree with President Obama on something. We are making progress.

I am both surprised and deeply humbled by the decision of the Nobel Committee. Let me be clear: I do not view it as a recognition of my own accomplishments

How could it be viewed as recognition of his accomplishments, he hasn’t done anything. There are many people who voted for Obama who feel the same way. I ask them this-If he shouldn’t receive the Nobel Peace Prize because he hasn’t done anything then how could he be President? What had he done to deserve to be the leader of the greatest country on earth?

Maxine Waters answers question of whether or not Rep. Charles Rangel should step down as chairman of the Ways and Means Committee because of an ongoing investigation for failing to pay taxes.

“He should not step down from his chairmanship,”

“He should keep working and let the investigation take its course. And if the investigation proves that he has done something wrong, that he should be penalized, then that’s the time to consider stepping down or retiring.”

Never thought I would agree with Rep. Waters on anything but she is right in this sense, until proven guilty Mr. Rangel is to be presumed innocent. On the other hand public officials need to be and should be held to higher standards.

This next comment by Rep. Waters is more disturbing.

“I wanna tell you, there are many members who if you go back over all of their records over the years, you’re going to find that there are disclosures that were not made.”

Like a broken a record, if we don’t impose harsh and I mean harsh penalties on elected officials for abusing their powers, misusing taxpayer dollars then it will never end. It’s almost as if Rep. Waters makes a joke about how many members of Congress are in on this and like who’s going to do anything about it. If you think about it, it’s like the United States continuously issuing sanctions against Iran for nuclear proliferation yet they have nuclear bomb making capabilities. Sanctions are meaningless.

Al Gore was recentlly speaking about what else global warming. Phelim McAleer, an Irish filmmaker asked Gore a question to which Gore responded but when McAleer tried to get further clarification from Gore his microphone was cut.

At the 1:30 mark of the video there is an exchange between Gore and McAleer about whether or not Polar bears are endangered. It goes like this:

McAleer: Well the number of Polar Bears have increased, actually

Gore: You don’t think they’re endangered do you?

McAleer: The number of Polar Bears have increased

Gore: Do you think they’re endangered?

McAleer: The number of Polar Bears have increased.

Gore: Laughter

It’s nice to see Al Gore sweat and be made a fool  of. Now that we are on the verge of one of the coldest winters on record maybe Al Gore should give his Nobel Peace Prize back. Ah who cares, its worthless now anyway.

Obama lapdog Donna Brazile on the President winning the Nobel.

It is well-deserved

Memo to Donna: Even Obama himself admits he didn’t deserve this and he wasn’t serving humble pie he was being honest. This is why CNN gets crap for ratings. Maybe the White House should look at CNN instead of FOX News.

Love the selective insight you give. Thought I read the polar ice caps will melt in Summer months within 20 years. Guess there is no such thing as global warming. As a proud parent, I like to think my children might be able to enjoy the earth. Cant see how anyone with half a brain can deny the damage we’ve done to the Earth. Smarten up people!!!
