I Like Me Some BBQ-President Obama spoke over the weekend at an AFL-CIO barbecue in Ohio. Obama was back in campaign mode as he pumped up the crowd with this chant, “Fired Up, Ready To Go.” He was talking about healthcare. This is what he said:

“Every debate at some point comes to an end,” he told a loudly supportive crowd. “At some point it’s time to decide. At some point it’s time to act. Ohio, it’s time to act and get this thing done.”

 

1 Down-Van Jones’ resignation did not come at the request of President Obama. Now that’s interesting. David Axelrod told NBC’s Meet The Press when asked if Obama ordered the resignation, “Absolutely not-this was Van Jones’ own decision.” I guess Obama doesn’t see anything wrong with Van Jones’ beliefs. The Founding Fathers of this great country must be rolling over in their graves at the thought of Communists running around the White House.

Worse Than Poor Taste- The AP and many other news outlets decided to post a photo of a dying Marine against his families wishes. The AP responded by saying that sometimes the government and press have different perspectives. AP Senior Managing Editor John Daniszewski said:

“We thought that the image told a story of sacrifice; it told a story of bravery,” He later added,”We believe this image is part of the history of this war. The story and photos are in themselves a respectful treatment and recognition of sacrifice.”

The AP is a disgrace plain and simple. They did not honor the wishes of the family by showing that photo. We have lost another hero in Lance Corporal Joshua Bernard age 21.

Lets Be Friends-Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said “Iran’s nuclear issue is over, We will never negotiate Iran’s undeniable rights.”  He did say he would speak with President Obama on other world issues though. Is this how that extending our hand deal is supposed to work? We offer friendship they kick us in our nuts. Bad deal If you ask me.

Just Misunderstood-Oliver Stone says the US Government and media have it all wrong when it comes to Hugo Chavez. He’s really a nice guy according to Stone. You think he really likes Chavez or is he trying to sell this movie? You know what, who cares what Oliver Stone says anyway.

Hurry Up, It’s Urgent-Nancy ‘Pinocchio’ Pelosi and Harry Reid have told President Obama that they have the necessary votes to get the healthcare bill passed. You would think that after all the backlash this government run healthcare plan has received they would re-think their position. They are going full steam ahead as President Obama has told key Democratic leaders that it is ‘urgent’ to get this bill passed soon. This is self destruct mode and nothing else. The people have spoken but apparently the members of Congress and the Senate are not listening.

Great Wit & Humor-Mark Steyn needs to get his own radio show. He is great when he fills in for Rush Limbaugh. His book America Alone is a must read.

Anyone See My Keys!-Glenn Beck was awarded the key to the city of Mount Vernon,Washington on none other than Glenn Beck Day. Not to be outdone, the mayor of neighboring Bellingham,Washington decided to give the key to his city to Jonathan Stewart of The Daily Show. I think giving the key to Stewart after it was announced that Beck would get the key first is jumping the shark, no?

Our Father, Who Art Between My Sheets-The Roman Catholic church has come up with a pre-sex prayer for couples to purify their intentions before they have sex. I used to have 1 of my own pre-sex prayers before I was married and had kids. It went like this; Dear God, please don’t let me get her pregnant, please God don’t let me get an STD and oh yeah God, please let me last long, Amen!
