It’s Not About Glenn Beck, It’s About Freedom Of Speech

August 23rd, 2009 · No Comments

The names change, Rush, Hannity but the game is the same. Silence conservative talk. Today it’s Glenn Beck. No they haven’t forgotten Rush or Sean but they can’t slay the giants so they go after smaller prey, so they think. Glenn Beck may be the new guy on the block but he has quite a following. He averages 2 million viewers. The name of the personality may change but the mission is and always has been the same. To stifle opposing views and commentary, an assault on our 1st Amendment Rights of Freedom Of speech. That is the end game.

Glenn Beck is being targeted by the group Colorofchange.org. Color Of Change is urging it’s 600,000 members to sign a petition that will be forwarded to Beck’s sponsors. Did Color Of Change send out similar emails to Rev. Jeremiah Wrights parishioners to boycott his church when he spewed Anti-White and Anti-Semitic sermons? The Executive Director of Colorofchange.org James Rucker said:

“We have seen rhetoric that is destructive and divisive before, but taking a platform that is supposed to be for news and analysis and using it to stoke racial animosity just crossed the line,”

Where was Mr. Rucker when Prof. Gates was falsely claiming racial profiling against Sgt. Crowley? That type of behavior is destructive and divisive as we witnessed. Why no email campaign? The following statement is posted on Colorofchange.org’s homepage.

Colorofchange.org is strengthening Black America’s political voice. Using the internet, we keep our members informed and give them ways to act on pressing issues facing Black people in America. We are united behind a simple, powerful pledge: We will do all we can to make sure all Americans are represented, served, and protected-regardless of race or class.

So again I ask, how come no petition, protest or email campaign against Prof. Gates or Rev. Wright? The mission statement says blah blah blah blah, blah blah regardless of race or class. Just a sidebar, Van Jones who is listed as the co-founder of colorofchange.org is now the green jobs czar in the Obama Administration.

Here is what Beck said. He said that Obama was a “racist” and that he had a “deep-seated hatred for white people.” Look, anything is possible. Obama could very well be a racist and have a deep-seated hatred for white people, or not. What is so outrageous about those statements that would make sponsors pull their ads? Nothing. But the fact that you have this Black group protesting means that something has to be done or those companies would then be branded as racist themselves. They figure they pull the ads the protests, phone calls and petitions go away. They’re home free. Redstate.com has compiled a partial list of companies that have boycotted the Glenn Beck show. Other companies that have bowed to the pressure are Walmart, GMAC Financial Services, BestBuy, CVS, Travelocity, Re-Bath, Broadview Security and Allergan.

Whether they re-instate the Fairness Doctrine or call it Localism the liberals want to control who says what. They don’t care who’s behind the microphone or on television. As long as they get to decide what can or can’t be said. The assault on free speech has already been started with the passing of the Hate Crimes Bill. So when the Fairness Doctrine raises it head and it will you better let your representatives in Congress and the Senate know they can go to hell when they try to silence opposing views.
